This Hacienda Martinez was built in 1804 and is one of the few “Great Houses” remaining in the American Southwest. It looks like a fortress with massive adobe walls. Of it’s 21 rooms, I found the kitchen and the blacksmith rooms most amazing. I hope to paint these interiors some day, but for now I painted the entry to the Hacienda on a hot September day.
