This lovely lavender field is in Sonoma, off of Arnold Drive. My good friends, Kathy and Martin, have planted 2000 lavender plants on their hillside. The lavender is at its peak in early July, but since they didn't harvest it this year, I was able to return in September and enjoy the lavender for one more painting afternoon. I had to remember the deep purple from July, since the summer's heat had dried up the blossoms. Sonoma Valley and the Mayacama Mountains are in the background.
