I am becoming infatuated with interiors.There is something about this porch that reminds me of my childhood. The screened in porch, the dark green color of the doors, the stone floor and the abundance of patterns and fabrics in the room were speaking to me. The early morning light was irresistible as it shone over the furniture and magnified the beauty of the hydrangeas which I had just picked and placed in a small vase. Compositional thinking becomes increasingly complicated when the events of my past life become part of my present images. What memories does this old porch have? Was it a retreat from the hot sun on a summer day? Was there the laughter of children over dinner? Were there negotiations discussed around the table? Was lemonade served and were quiet evenings enjoyed? Were there fireflies and fireworks outside the screened porch on warm evenings?
