Wright's Beach is north of Salmon Creek on Highway 1, just north of Andrew's home (where I painted Turbulent Waters and many smaller ocean studies). I painted this scene on a very clear spring day (March 28, 2002. I was infatuated with the colors of the wildflowers against the sand. The cliffs were covered with red ice plant, the ocean was very blue. My brush worked differently for me that day, painting in an expressionist manner
