Kathleen Elsey Paintings

Painted in 1999 at China Camp Village north of San Francisco in California. I painted many times at this beautiful village on the bay. China Camp has a group of abandoned buildings and a beautiful tranquil beach, a calm escape from the more windy beaches of the Pacific Coast. I've painted here many times. Once again, I'm trying to grasp the intangible, to capture the moody light as the sun sets, casting long shadows on the normally golden sandy beach.
