“I’m drawn to intimate spaces, interiors and exterior interiors, suggesting life, yet no people. I try to see colors and shapes and transfer those images to my canvas, translating feelings before considering details. In “Table in the Oak Grove,” the trees, the earth, the table and chairs are the same color as each other, and I wanted to paint them as if they were one, obscured by each other, becoming one.” -Kathleen Elsey
