I paint what I see plus all that flows into my mind
from a thousand sources.

This painting was inspired by the destructive wildfires in Yellowstone National Park summer of 2022. I find solace it the Santa Barbara Botanical Garden's redwood grove. Nothing is better than wandering amongst the trees deep within the canyon. Rain or shine, trees are majestically speaking to me through the gentle breeze. Within the redwoods, I began painting the shapes and colors on my canvas. After that quick beginning, I continued painting in the studio with my imagination guiding me to add the mountains, the redbud trees, the cobalt sky.
